Coach Pierzchala begins his 8th season on staff for the Pendleton Heights Baseball Program. He has manage the pitching staff since 2023 after having led the freshmen team in the years prior. After a seven-year professional playing career in independent and international baseball, Eric Pierzchala moved into coaching and player development in 2009.
Pierzchala has managed four teams in the independent minor leagues. In 2009, he managed the Coastal Kingfish in the Continental League. In 2010, he managed the New York Hudsons to a second-half championship with a 21-14 record in the New York State League. In 2011, Pierzchala led the New York Capitols to a league championship in the NYSL, and in 2015 he managed the Garden State Grays in the Can-Am League.
During the 2013 season, Pierzchala served as Director of Player Personnel for the Taos Blizzard of the Pecos League, helping nineteen players to advance to higher minor league levels. Pierzchala also served as a scout for independent minor league teams and has signed three amateur free agents to their first professional contracts who reached triple-A and one amateur free agent who reached the major leagues.
As a player, Pierzchala, as a knuckleballer, set the New York State League’s career records for wins and strikeouts. During his playing career, Eric also spent time in the United, Frontier, and Continental Leagues. During the 2003 and 2004 seasons, Pierzchala was a player-coach for the London Warriors of the U.K. Rawlings National League, and was transferred to the team after playing as a pitcher-shortstop with the Wanze Cardinals of Belgium's First Division in 2002.
